France beats Denmark again in rematch, Spain out
The Groupstage of European Nations Championship 2009 came to an end with France beating Denmark again in the Main Round. Meanwhile Spain, who got the fourth place at ENC 2008, was eliminated after a 0:2 defeat to France.

The Groupstage of European Nations Championship 2009 came to an end with France beating Denmark again in the Main Round. Meanwhile Spain, who got the fourth place at ENC 2008, was eliminated after a 0:2 defeat to France.France faced Denmark again in the Main Round as a result of one of the French players' aequitas was reported missing. However, France showed their strong performance again in the rematch, defeating Denmark 2:1. Afterwards, France finished off Spain with 2:0 in its last Main Round, placing second in Group B to secure a spot in the relegation match.
As a result, France is going to challenge Norway in the relegation match. Denmark, the team that placed third at ENC 2008 yet passing this years ENC groupstage as third, will face the 2008 runner-up Germany, in the relegation match. History won't repeat itself, since these circumstances won't lead to an encounter of the teams in the semi-finals, as one of them will have been eliminated beforehand.
With both Sweden and Poland advancing to the LAN Finals directly, the winner of each relegation match will progress to challenge the defending champion and the Poles.

France VS Norway (21:00CET, 9 July)
