SK Gaming faced German rivals n!faculty tonight in the Consoles.net Halo 3 4v4 Round 4. A tough match on paper, but the Scandinavians made it look easy.Tonight saw SK Gaming play n!faculty in the Consoles.net Halo 3 4v4 Cup. Looking at the lineups and both teams' past at various gaming competitions this looked like it would be a close encounter, however SK's range of clutch plays from each team member exhibited the strength in depth that the team has as they swept to a 3-0 win.
The first map was Capture the Flag on The Pit, a favourite of many Halo 3 players. SK outslayed their opponents by a mere 8 kills yet claimed a 3-1 win here, in the closest game of the three. Next up was Team Slayer on Narrows; the drive was led by Daniel 'ZicKneX' Rosenberg who came away with a 16:6 kill to death ratio as all SK members went positive on kills over deaths. The team won this game 50-34. The last game was Oddball on Guardian, a map where it was time to shine for other SK players Christoffer 'Lion' Gulbrandsen and Rasmus Andersson 'FragTaLe' Roberg who brought 10 more kills than deaths to the table that ensured a comfortable 223-162 victory and closed the series 3-0 to SK.
Rasmus Andersson 'FragTaLe' Roberg took a moment to give SK Gaming a short statement about the match:
In the other Cup games, Team-Dignitas claimed a default win over vVv Gaming's EU Halo 3 team Ambition, No Money No Honey surpassed French side Essential eAmbition 3-0 and the match between Crack Clan and Raptor Gaming was postponed as Crack's player had connection problems. Crack also had to replace star player Omega this week whose interest in playing competitive Halo 3 dropped after his Xbox 360 broke.
After defeating n!faculty this week, SK Gaming will face Team-Dignitas in Round 5 of the CSL Halo 3 Cup. As always, SK wishes the Halo 3 side the best of luck.
