you know why i hate microsoft?
they're releasing betas all the time for 100€ and even more, need years to make their system safe and then release a new one, which is in beta state again...and costs 100€ of course.

...just take a look at vista. so many bullshit options no one needs and the system trys to do everything automatically, which is really annoying if it does bullshit (like 90% of the time).

i wish there was a real alternative, but there is simply none...

Tell me one company that isn't trying to profit from their customers, especially if there's 1 of a kind. It's just right, i'd do the same with my Software/Hardware, release "bugfixes" and "newer versions" all the time. :P

Most of the time I hear people whining about their pirate versions because they cannot update their OSes. Well, I'm sorry but being a half-ass deserves no respect.
