The second day has just come to an end, with this, a lot of unexpected results, mostly in the World of Warcraft EU tourney I've been following, also, tomorrow the WoW and WC3 US finals, what's in store? The World of Warcraft EU event turned out to be slightly, if not completely, different than I expected. As I've said before, I'm no WoW expert, but I've heard of the top dogs such as, obviously, SK, Ensidia, iNNERFiRE, etc...
The Round 1 games were the ones that kind of suprised me as out of my 4 favorites to go through, only one did, being Woah. My 3 other favorites, SK.EU (obviously), Ensidia and the French aAa Rat had all dropped to the lower bracket. This was then followed by a LB R1 SK.EU vs. Ensidia, a game which I had expected or hoped to see perhaps in the upper/lower Final/Semi-Final. Meanwhile, x6tence were blazing through the lower bracket with a solid 3:0 score in all games. Pala, Huntard and DK were working wonders for them, easily breaking through aAas, SK.EUs and eDawgs' RMPs.
Then of course, in the middle of it was the drama with the admins not properly setting up the servers, or at least "guarding" them, enabling randomers to join and just screw up the arena.
This being said, not being a big WoW pvp fan, yet generally enjoying the game, to actually sit there and watch the games makes them so much more interesting. Some games were simply amazing and thrilling to watch. Earlier on, I can't exactly remember which game it was but it was part of the US teams, I saw an amazing comeback in a 2v3 situation, where 2 of them simply decimated the team and managed to survive over 2 minutes at first without killing anyone, gradually both running out of mana and then striking and killing all 3, stunning game.
Anyhow, congratulations to x6tence, they did make a stunning job at coming back from the lower bracket, and certainly have made Spain proud.
As for later today, EG vs. SK in the upper final. Considering their motivation and enthusiasm today, I believe that SK will be able to take this one, in particular, as (if I remember correctly) Kintt from Team Pandemic put it: "they are the best RMP out there". TSG vs. eMg I think I'm going to put my money on TSG who quickly shook themselves awake after a 3:0 loss against Complexity in the first round. However, this means that TSG will have to play EG again in the lower bracket final (if SK makes it). And TSG were already beaten, closely, but beaten, by EG, which could be a do-over in the lower final. This then means, perhaps SK vs. EG in the grand finals??
