SK Gaming USA are just one victory away from securing their place in the BlizzCon 2009 with their upper-bracket final match against TEAM EG.Only the top two finishers in the Blizzard US Regionals qualify for BlizzCon which means that only of the four teams left; SK.USA, Team EG, eMazing Gaming or TSG will qualify Grand Finals in August. SK Gaming USA have yet to have stiff competition so far in this competition and Team EG will definately be a test, especially considering they managed to upstage TSG 3-2 earlier in the winner bracket.
Team EG are proving the most popular in the public eye given their setup includes a Shaman, one of the classes to receive a buff in the upcoming patch which is set to come out before BlizzCon and could give the US team a great advantage should they qualify. However, SK Gaming US are on a roll winning all eight of their last competitive matches, going back to their 1st place at MLG Colombus.
Team EG performed extremely poorly at the MLG Colombus winning only one of their matches, so they will need to be on the ball to prove their 3-2 defeat of TSG was not a fluke, but infact a taste of things to come.
In the lowerbracket we have TSG versus eMazing Gaming but given Emazing's issue with dealing with heavy armour cleave, TSG should progress to face the loser of SK.USA versus Team EG. The Upper-bracket final kicks off at 11:15 am CET, and you can follow the results in our coverage.
