Pedro "Lucifron" Duran wins his second individual competition of the year after beating Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen in the Grand Final of the Blizzard European Regionals.Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen put up a fight forcing the series into a second best-of-3 and onto the final map. Having lost to Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán 2-0 in the upper bracket Grubby had to defeat the Spaniard twice in the Grand Final to take 1st.
The first map of the Grand Final saw Lucifron throw away an impressive lead, giving the Dutchman the lead, but second game Lucifron struck back killing both of Grubby's heroes in the middle of Twisted Meadows to level the score. Third game Lucifron's excellent harassment forced persistent delays on Grubby's tier2, but a couple of creepjacks and some nice item drops - which included a tome of experience for his Shadow Hunter - sealed a 2-1 victory for Grubby.
Grubby started off well in the second set, taking the first map and it looked as if Lucifron was about to throw away an incredible advantage, but Lucifron fought back to take the next two games. This makes him the only player in 2009 to win two international individual competitions.
Third place is filled by Russian Nikita 'Nicker' Pomadov and Thomas 'ThomasG' Glinski takes fourth place after he caused the biggest upset of the tournament by defeating Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin.
