New facts force SK to remove Starcraft team

ImageIt is with great regret that we have to announce the removal of our Starcraft: Brood Wars team, after new information surrounding our latest addition has presented itself.

"If and when we do decide to recruit a Starcraft squad again, it will be one that can best represent our organisation and eSports in general "
A month ago SK Gaming were approached by a pair of individuals who propositioned a possibility for SK Gaming to recruit some of the cream of the crop in Chinese Starcraft: Brood War.

We believed the offer to be genuine given that the high-flying Chinese players they mentioned all played under their team name [EN], and a deal was struck to recruit the eleven players in their team.

However, the deal which seem too good to be true, came back to haunt us as we unearthed earlier today, that in fact five of the six Chinese players - including WCG silver medalist Junchun 'Pj' Sha - were already under contract in a team called Star Carior, which was not widely documented. Furthermore, after contacting PJ we discovered that himself and his four colleagues actually had not been informed at all by their two managers that they had joined SK Gaming.

After he was confronted with the new information the team-manager revealed that he was in fact aware that they played for Star Carior when he first contacted SK, but it was again information that was withheld from us when we were making our decision.

We are of course deeply saddened that we were not presented with the full facts, but we must also accept that these series of events were also triggered through our naivety and lack of adequate research. Therefore, due to the nature of this recruitment, we have decided to wipe the slate clean and remove the entire squad from our organisation, recommencing our quest to find a Starcraft team.

We wish to apologise to the Starcraft community for a lack of proper research into their well-established gaming scene and hope that if and when we do decide to recruit a Starcraft squad again, it will be one that can best represent our organisation and eSports in general.
