SK Europe just defeated iNNERFiRE 3-0 to win ESL's WoW invitational.Valent 'another' Sebastijan exorcised some of the demons of the Dreamhack final by beating iNNERFiRE to win the ESL Invitational. SK went through the finals bracket undefeated, dropping just two maps in three games.
The eastern Europeans had a tough task to come back from the lower bracket, after narrowly losing 3-2 earlier in the evening. But the second time the teams met, Another and co blew their opposition away, running out 3-0 victors.
Playing a heavy cleave setup (deathknight/warrior/druid), SK got the best possible start when they saw Ring of Valor pop up on their screens. The outcome was almost inevitable, and a 1-0 lead was quickly established. But they proved that they didn't need such a map advantage to win as they took the second game on Blade's Edge. This time it was a little closer, as Innerfire tried to throw out an early blind and play super-aggressive but excellent control play from SK meant the blind was simply wasted.
The third map, Dalaran Sewers, played out similarly, with Innerfire again looking for an early advantage via blind. But again it was wasted, and they put the momentum into SK's hands. From there, the cleave team just kept going and took a comfortable series to pick up the ESL-I title.
Final Standings
1. SK Gaming EUROPE
2. iNNERFiRE
3. Edawgs
4. against All authority Rat
If you missed any of the games, you can check out the bracket right here. You will also be able to find the VODs over at the ESL page in the near future.
