The new CPL just announced its new partnership and first step coming back to the gaming community.
Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) just announced its partnerships with China's Overseas Chinese Town Chengdu Holdings (OCT) and Singapore's International Digital Media (IDM).
With the new partnerships, CPL is going to host CPL China as its first world tour which is aimed for serveing eSports in China, kicking off in this September in Chengdu where is the center of gaming in China.
"We are excited to be in partnership with China's OCT Chengdu and Singapore's IDM on developing the esports industry in the growing market of Asia. " Scott Valencia, new CEO of the CPL Holdings Group, LLC stated, "The CPL has long been Asia's esports brand of choice, and by having the first gaming community event in the City of Chengdu we get an opportunity to express our gratitude for their years of support."
However, it is unknown whether or not this "new" CPL will pay out their Prize Money to the previous winners. The G7 teams boycotted their tournament after large amount of money remained unpaid, which was one of the factors that lead to its demise.

it shouldn't really matter if CPL owe people money though because new people are running it.
you should be happy enough that a new tournament is back though ;)

thats meansin america we will get caleague back soon.

The "new owners" are the same old people you've come to know and hate and are partly (if not mostly) responsible for the decline and fall of E-Sports in the last few years. Who killed the WSVG? Who killed CGS? Here's where you can find out more ... http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1707559
I would urge everyone continue to support the WCG, Kode5, or other reputable organizations who care about gamers and ignore the appearance of an entity with "Strike Three" written all over them. The CPL is dead for a reason and should stay that way.
