Objectives, NPC's, reinforcements... sounds familiar? The first blue comments regarding WoW's new battleground were posted today.Blizzard promised a new battleground in the upcoming major content patch and it looks like they will deliver. Today saw the first tidbits of information about the upcoming "Cal of the Crusade" patch (aka 3.2). From the official forums:
As Blizzard themselves tell it, Ise of Conquest (IoC) is starting to look very much like an island-based version of Alterac Valley with hints of Arathi Basin and Wintergrasp. Like AV, there are generals to kill and reinforcements to keep an eye on - run out of them and the game is over. But like AB, there are nodes to capture and hold. But the nodes give advantages for holding them, similar to Wintergrasp.
The siege workshop is more-or-less identical to its WG counterparts, allowing the use of siege vehicles. The mine and the oil derrick are much more AB-like, giving a constant flow of honour. But perhaps the most exciting parts are the airship and the docks. They allow you to attack by air and by sea respectively, the airship even comes complete with parachutes.
Victory in IoC will come from either wiping out the enemy's reinforcements or killing their general. Walls will play a part, similar to those in Wintergrasp, but the exact details are still sketchy. One thing in certain though, it will not be a one attack-one defend situation like WG. Both teams will be fighting their way to each others general at the same time.

"An island somewhere off the shores of Northrend. A rock, hardly worth a second look. But as insignificant as it may seem, this is no ordinary place. A sound of thunder as waves crash endlessly against rocky cliffs; a sound of fury as swords clash on the blood-stained fields of this island on the edge of forever.
Welcome to the Isle of Conquest."

Nothing beats logging off one evening, only to rejoin the _SAME_ AV the next day, and still be bottlenecked on the alliance bridge ;D
Had to call in the cavalry, the air support AND the ice lord to beat through that shizzle. Pure awesomeness.
so many awesome memories
bring it backkkkkkkkk ;)
Shredders, loltroll at the Iceblood graveyard, farming for the ram/wolf riders and the druids/shamans to spawn those hugh guys who got stronger by demolishing the opposite faction!
I spent entire days in one and the same bg, loved it :D
But hey, if it is big I can afk every single game so that is the only plus.
PvE has become so mindnumbinlgy boring. It's a joke, rly.I mean Ulduar has come out like 2 months ago and there are already PuG raids clearing the whole thing?
The Arena is the only thing that seems interesting atm, even though i quit playing wow and have never actually commited to the arena.
Also, the thing that bothers me the most about wow is that no matter how much skill you have, you can still get owned by a total noob if he has better gear. And what did he have to do to get it?Use bots or go afk in BG's for a week or two?
Call me conservative, but the old pvp system was soooo much better. If you'd see a rank 14 geared player coming your way, you'd think twice before engaging him.Guess why?Cuz back then, ppl who had that kind of gear actually were the best pvp-ers in the game!Even if you had PvE gear that was just as good, usually you would be no match for such a dedicated pvp-er.
Maybe I have played this game for far too long,up to a point where it became completly boring for me,but i believe that if u think about what i have written-you will agree with the most of it.
