The European IEM champions overcame Inflame's WLD team Woah to reach the grand finals of ESL's WoW Invitational. The team from Bulgaria went through to the ESL-I grand finals tonight, after seeing-off Woah . Despite coming from the lower bracket, the WLD team took the first set and looked like they might claim the fourth finals spot for themselves. But iNNERFiRE showed great resilience to come back from a 1-3 defeat and win the second set by the same score.
The win will taste even sweeter for the eastern Europeans after their troubled Blizzcon qualifying campaign. Expecting a points reset that never came, iNNERFiRE's mage, 'Coold' then broke his arm. The team were unable to practice properly and missed out on the top eight placing they needed to reach the regional finals.
But tonight's victory goes some way towards making up for that. Their luck in ESL tournaments came good for them again, after becoming European champions at the Extreme Masters finals in March. The Bulgarians take their place in the ESL-I final whose complete team list reads like this:
Week 1 winners: Edawgs (RMP)
Week 2 winners: against All authority Rat (RMP)
Week 3 winners: SK Gaming EUROPE (WDDk)
Week 4 winners: iNNERFiRE (RMP)
You can watch the finals live on ESL TV next Wednesday and don't forget to check out SK's own coverage.
