Fly100%: "TH000 is more brilliant than Moon"

ImageWeiliang 'Fly100%' Lu of Mousesports speaks of the recent WC3L finals on home soil, his team-mates, the infamous Blade Master and more on PCGames.

Hey, Fly100%. First congratulations on winning WCG 2009 Guangzhou preliminaries. Did you prepare anything beforehand?

I knew my main competitors were Human so I practised more against Human in training ahead of the preliminaries.
"I couldn’t beat my opponents in the crucial final which led to the defeat of our team."

In the recently concluded WC3L finals, Mousesports only settled for the second place. We all saw regrets left in the faces of you and TH000. What do you say about the finals?

We all performed well in the beginning, but I couldn’t beat my opponents in the crucial final which led to the defeat of our team.

You have been playing much better so far this year than last year, especially the terrific roller coaster of the PGL Season IV final, in which you beat Sky to win the title. How do you practise every day, and how long do you practise daily?

I don’t practise systematically now and only practise more when I find suitable partners. I usually practise around eight hours.

What are the Mousesports players in your eyes?

HasuObs is a player of high team spirit. He reminds you what you could have done better when he watches your game, and tells you how to improve from his point of view. On top of that, he is very honest. He tells you are in the wrong when he thinks so, but he also encourages you when you are doing well.
"TH000 is more brilliant than Moon and full of vivid imagination, yet all-round in game."

TH000 is very talented and skilled. He has his own thinking and unique style, though I don’t really favour his character. He is more brilliant than Moon and full of vivid imagination, yet all-round in game.

FoV in the meantime is a very old-school Undead player, and my best Korean friend. It’s really interesting to drink with him. He was losing his drive earlier, but I believe he is still longing for the top. I can feel he remains passionate for this game and is still good at it through practice. What he’s lacking is simply confidence. I hope his fans can cheer for him and I believe he won’t let us down.

Do you have any habit outside practice?

I like music, manga, and travelling. I hope to travel to more places when I am still a professional player and try more delicious food.

What do you think of the saying about Blade Master, that it is a superman?

I agree with it to some extent. When you decide to use him as your initial hero, he will affect half of damage production of your army. Superman is really good, but when he is undone, you are not far from defeat.
"Maybe Blizzard should buff Undead, but I think what causes imbalance most remains the maps."

Do you think the game is balanced in current version?

Maybe Blizzard should buff Undead, but I think what causes imbalance most remains the maps.

What do you think of the scene nowadays?

Not so bright. There are top players that are still free in the market. I think we lack a working business model.

I saw your performance at Stars War in 2007, when you single-handily beat Meet Your Makers. What do you think you have improved in the space of two years?

I don’t know, probably experience. To be honest, I think I’ve lost many.

I wish you can play your a-game in WCG 2009 China finals. Is there anything you want to say to your fans?

I hope you guys can continue to cheer for me, and don’t laugh at me when I play poorly.
