MLG: SK topples Ensidia to take first place

ImageThe game that was billed as 'match of the tournament' lived up to its name for SK fans as the Americans came out on top with a 3-1 victory.

The first game on Dalaran Sewers swung back and forth early on. But SK swapped their targets nicely, and after forcing an iceblock out of Mike 'Carekoala' Tyrrell they switched back to the rogue and killed him from 100 to zero in the blink of an eye.

1-0 up, SK went into the Ruins of Lordaeron with all the momentum. Despite a great opener for Ensidia , getting the sap onto Realz, they were unable to capitalise. Enforcer's typical aggressive play style turned the tide and brought a second map to SK

On Blade's Edge SK trained Ryan 'Hydra' van Buiten long and hard. But the man touted as "world's best priest" lived up to his name and kited Joe 'Enforcer' Morrone down under the bridge with help from his mage. Even so, SK looked certain to get the kill after pain suppression wore off. But the Americans were guilty of a bit of tunnel-vision, allowing their own rogue to go down as they continued to chase Hydra.

Ensidia looked to be making a comeback at 1-2, but SK were able to put pay to that idea quickly in the fourth game. The same map came up once again, but SK played it cool this time around. Their calmer approach paid off and it was SK who came out 3-1 winners.

With just one game left, SK claims the first seed going into bracket play. Ensidia finishes third with just two defeats. Second place goes to the RMP counter-comp of eMazing Gaming . Although it looked like eMg might go undefeated, SK already stopped them in this tournament.

The fourth and final qualifying spot is wide open right now. Pandemic will play against Complexity any minute now to decide it.
