Starcraft2 end of 2009 says Blizzard

ImageBlizzard Entertainment's President Mike Morhaime revealed today that the company are aiming to release Starcraft2 before the end of this year.



"We're targeting an end of year release, this year, for StarCraft 2"
"We're targeting an end of year release, this year, for StarCraft 2," said Morhaime. "But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players."

The first installment of the RTS trilogy will be Terrans: Wings of Liberty which will include a Terran singleplayer campaign as well as full-multiplayer for all races.

The much anticipated sequel already has a closed beta which is currently accepting sign-ups which is set to begin this summer. Interested parties simply visit your Battle.net profile page and choose opt-in for the beta. According to the Blizzard SC2 FAQ the North American beta test will begin first.
