WC3L: Shy: "I never expected to win two games"

ImageWICKED eSports’ captain Chul Woo 'Shy' Park is "very happy" after his two vital points in their first round defeat of Evil Geniuses steered his team into upper bracket final.

"I never expected to win two, especially not against Happy"
Due to technical issues, the opening match of the WC3L Season XV Finals between second-placed Evil Geniuses and third-placed WICKED eSports had been delayed for virtually four hours.

But the wait failed to dampen Chul Woo 'Shy' Park’s desire to avenge their regular season’s failure to claim the second-place status when they barely managed to win 3-2 in the end. After beating Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin 2-0 in a fast-paced game, the Korean Night elf player went on to produce a scintillating performance against two-time World Cyber Games winner Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen.

Accompanied by Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom’ 2-0 defeat of Happy, they are now waiting their next opponent from another tie between nGize and Mousesports in the upper bracket final. In a post-match interview with Lawrence 'Malystryx' Phillips, Shy could not hide his delight in beating Evil Geniuses, and told us why he preferred to meet Mousesports over nGize tomorrow. The Korean was in a good mood having surpassed what he expected to achieve, but he has a slight preference who to fact next. "I do not care who we play, I am very happy already! [laughs] I never expected to win two, especially not against Happy. I thought Focus would win two."

"Actually maybe I'd like Mousesports to go through alittle as In 4 days is BlizzCon qualifiers, and I would prefer to not play Check here." FoCuS stated prior to the WC3L he had a special strategy, did he use it? "I think FoCuS did not use his strategy, I did not even know he has a special orc strategy."

SK Gaming’s Lawrence 'Malystryx' Phillips is covering the event on the scene. On top of his WC3L Diary - tales from the Happy Valley, you can also browse photos in our WC3L Finals - Day 1 Gallery.
