This evening Beijing university defeated its rival Tsing Hua University, in a college eSports match, sponsored by Blizzard China with the highlight being guest commentary from Xiaofeng "Sky" Li.The match which was held in Beijing University and SK Gaming was lucky enough to be invited as a member of the press as the only international website present. The two Universities, well-renowned in China for being the best academically competed for once not in just sports, but eSports, playing in a best-of-5 clan war with Warcraft and Starcraft being played. Two Starcraft solos were played as well as two Warcraft solos and a 2v2, with the tournament being recorded in order to broadcast on Chinese television at a later date.
Beijing University - which boasted You You 'MoonFish' Jianying, one of the Steelseries Iron Lady competitors and winner of the WCG Beijing female qualification earlier today - came out on top crushing Tsing Hua university. The event saw about 300 avid supporters come to cheer on their university, with the climax reached when Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li played several showmatches after the tournament, but given a handicap in order to make it fair.
The choices of handicap were for Sky to play with only hand, to play with 50% health or for him to play another race. In the first showmatch he played Human versus Orc on Echo Isles with only one hand but still managed to defeat his opponent, much to the delight of the crowd.
The second showmatch was versus MoonFish, and Sky played Night Elf while the Chinese Iron Lady chose Orc - despite her race of expertise being Night Elf.
Sky attempted a AP huntress and Keeper of the Grove tower push on Echo Isles but fell short and the young lady claimed victory over the two-times WCG winner. To learn more about the BLizzard sponsored event, check out our gallery.
