ImageManuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen is the next target of nGize's interview podcasts entitled nGize Zoom.

"Like Creo; ToD, Lucifer and Soju are people that won tournaments so they are part of the best of the very best "
When asked about the retirement of players like Yoan 'ToD' Merlo, Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee and Jae Wook 'Lucifer' Noh, Grubby said "It's always sad for me to see one of the veterans of the game, or anyone for that matter retire.

It does not directly affect me to make me feel the scene is going down, but of course these are well known mates, just like Creo; ToD, Lucifer and Soju are people that won tournaments so they are part of the best of the very best and when they retire that is a personal choice that I can always understand. It's always sad to know you will never play against them again or watch replays."

ESWC Masters of Cheonan recently saw Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen exit in the groupstage in a bo-1 group, Grubby was quizzed whether the bo1 format was the reason for his early departure. "Well I think the tournament was not bad by any means, of course it was loud because we were next to the stage, and we did not have much player space, but it did not matter" said Grubby, "I do not think my concentrate was bad in that sense, but what you said about the best-of-1, although it is not the only reason because you can still win or lose a map, I do think I would have a bit more chance if it had been a best-of-3 system."

"For example if you look at my WCG matches against ToD and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang I lost the first map against both players, consequently I then won the next two. So if you had changed the WCG to best-of-1 I would have been eliminated on the first map already." You can listen to the whole thing here.
