Today's 3.1.2 patch for World of Warcraft has brought a shocking change for engineers and arena players. When today's schedule maintenance is over, 3.1.2 will be live on all realms. Every patch brings with it a few little tidbits that don't make the official notes, but one "fix" to engineering will have players quaking in their boots... or not.
Nitro boosts - the engineering enchant that allows players to travel faster for a brief time - have been disabled in arena play. Engineering in arenas has long been a hot topic and the last patch saw a nerf to the Gnomish Lightning Generator trinket. But no hint was given that today's patch would bring such a hefty nerf.
With GLG nerfed in the last patch and now this new change, Blizzard seems intent on levelling the playing field for non-engineers. The creators of WoW said their policy in WoTLK was to make professions feel like less of a 'must have' and this is certainly a step in that direction.

ffs nurf druids already please.
you can use your engineering advantage in bg-pvp as well as you can use it in world pvp.
it sucks to lose arenagames just because your opponent was an engineer.
Alcamage: Word!
Typical, engineering is apparently meant to be more of a bg proff pvp wise other than being a arena proff. o/
