ImageThe ESWC Masters of Cheonan was set for some upsets given the way the groups were laid out but none expected to see such an early exit for Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen who finished bottom of his group, after forfeiting one of his matches.

Despite the group stage being best of one, In our groupstage poll 87.9% of voters expected Grubby to progress to the next round but the Dutchman lost all three of his opening games in his group stage. However, he might be excused given the level of competition in Group A, although it has been posted on various websites that Grubby forfeited his second match against Soccer for reasons unknown as of yet.

Many fans expected Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin to be the one to struggle in the group but he managed to take two wins despite an early defeat to Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu. Despite some confusion over who was the victor between Fly and Soccer, it is now confirmed Fly was the winner putting him through to the next round of the competition undefeated.

Group A - Final Standings

Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu - 9 points (3-0)
Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin- 6 points (2-1)
Deok Man 'SocceR' Youn - 3 points (1-2)
Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen 0 points (0-3)
