Finally, a true Surround Sound headset with a microphone that will work with your PS3, Xbox 360, and PC/Mac. For the audio or movie enthusiast, the AX Pro is also compatible with any device that features a digital optical or 3.5mm analog 5.1 outputs

The great thing about the AX Pro is the sound box which allows real time processing of Dolby Digital and Pro Logic (this also makes him great for DVD and Blue Ray films). Combine this with the 4 speakers in each ear cup (exactly 4, not 3 as most surround headsets) and you basically have a cinematic experience on your head.
On top of that you can change the volume of each individual speaker (this is important if you e.g. want to play with less bass and more high tones), you can change your own chat volume without affecting the overall sound volume and, using the sound box, you can even change the time delay when using Pro Logic or Dolby Digital. On top of that the sound box allows you to connect a second Tritton AX headset (AX51 or another AX Pro) and you have extra 5.1 surround 3.5mm audio jacks to connect your speakers set. In other words: you don't have to change the plugs each time you want to listen to your speakers or headset! And I know many of you have this problem. It just sucks you have to get behind your pc, pull your headset out and plug in your speaker again.
And the fun continues: all cables are included (inc. an optica cable and an analogue 3.5 jack connector so you don't have to use the sound box if you don't want to), European adaptors, sound box, extra ear pads & neckband (you can choose between fabric or leather, whatever you like best) and a high quality detachable microphone!
Conclusion: thanks to the sound box you can get superb audio quality using the optical cable and the Dolby Digital processing. On top of this you can connect the headset to your PC, Playstation 3 or Xbox360 which makes it the ultimate all-round headset. The Tritton AX Pro is from now on my new #1 headset.
