Raptor Gaming player Marcus 'Thorzain' Eklöf will succeed Geh aB player Samu 'BriNGeR' Riihelä’s place at the EPS Scandinavia finals this weekend.
The Finland national team player Samu 'BriNGeR' Riihelä edged Serious Gaming’s Hjalmar 'DowaQ' Högberg and Evil Geniuses' René 'Ciara' Krag at the second place on set difference at the end of the regular season of ESL Pro Series Scandinavia Season I this February.
BriNGeR and DowaQ were expected to lock horns on 25 April when the offline finals takes place at Inferno Online in Stockholm, Sweden in a bid to win the first place prize money €1,000, but BriNGeR decided to sit out the event, leaving ESL only turned to the fifth place Marcus 'Thorzain' Eklöf.
The results from 18-year-old Sweden Human player during the regular season may not appeal to many, losing four games out of nine, but he has been constantly in the spotlight as of late thanks to defeats of Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu, Dong Hwan 'viOlet' Kim, Du Seop 'WhO' Chang and more in various competitions as some already compare him to his illustrious fellow Sweden Human player Alborz 'HeMaN' Haidarian.
Despite the incident, the semi-finals remains untouched as Thorzain and DowaQ grace the stage as opening match, while Daniel 'LiiLD.C' Claesson plays against the only non-Swedish player Ciara. For more information, please visit our EPS Sca Season I Finals coverage.
