Lurppis on his way to America

By Timothy 'merusame' Ellersiek

ImageYesterday Team EG announced that Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen will be replacing their former star player Corey "hanes" Hanes.

It seems to be quite trendy to bring an European player into a North American roster. It happened in the past with Marcus 'zet' Sundström joining compLexity and now history seems to be more or less repeating itself with Tomi 'lurppis' Kovanen joining up with the Evil Geniuses.

Tomi 'lurppis' Kovanen is already arriving in Dallas on tuesday to start with the preparation for upcoming events such as the KODE5 Grand Finals and the ESWC Masters event in South Korea in may.

This whole issue may come as a surprise to the community after Tomi 'lurppis' Kovanen announcing his inactivity after leaving his old team Crack Clan some time ago. His first appearance will be the CEVP-P Professional Playoffs this month. This is what the player himself said about this big step:

"I thought I was already done with CS but after I got into talks with EG it became clear it just wasn't time yet. I can honestly say I've never been this excited in my CS career and I can't wait to arrive in Dallas and start practicing with my new teammates. I've always wanted to try living abroad, so for me it really is a dream come true, being able to move out there and compete in all the tournaments with EG. I think it would be normal to have some concerns but honestly right now I'm just too excited to even think about that, I just want to get there asap!"
