KODE5 USA Champions Gravitas Gaming will not be attending the KODE5 Global Finals in Russia after failing the application deadlines.Gravitas Gaming had recently qualified and won the KODE5 2009 USA Final after defeating x3o , earning themselves a ticket to the finals in Moscow. However, they have failed to provide the information required to complete the application within its deadline.
This has left the USA spot open for the Global Finals which will now be replaced with Evil Geniuses who were ranked 5th-6th at the KODE5 2009 USA Final after losing against Frag Dominant in the upper bracket and x3o in the lower.
"Gravitas was given more than enough time to submit their player information to apply for several required documents after the conclusion of the USA Qualifier, but failed to do so. We were given strict deadlines to when this information was to be submitted, which meant that we had to make a quick decision to look for another team to replace them before the imposed deadline passed. Otherwise, USA would end up not having a representative at the KODE5 Global Final. In the end, it was decided to send one of the other candidates who were able to offer their information in a timely manner. It is regrettable that Gravitas will not be in attendance, but wish Team EG the best of luck in Moscow."

both sides win really - kode5 get whatever little backhander eg have given them, plus the us cs audience they might not have got if another team had played, plus the added pr of having a team of old great players at their tournament.
eg win because they get their team of substandard, washed up ex-top players into a major tournament that they finished 5th-6th in the qualifiers of, and therefore did not deserve to attend.
