3.1 goes live tomorrow

ImageAlthough unconfirmed by Blizzard, the patch is on the background downnloader already and looks set for a release during tonight's maintenance.

WoTLK's first major content patch goes live tomorrow, bringing with it a gargantuan list of changes. A new raid instance, a new faux-pvp tournament and the much anticipated dual spec system.

New PvP gear is coming too, adding some interesting options for arena players. Can you afford to drop resilience on your trinket for more offensive stats? The new Wintergrasp trinkets could be for you. They offer stats like hit rating and spell power in place of the usual resilience, opening up a new dilemma for many classes.

Season 6 gear will also be added to the game files, although the season itself isn't set to being until next week (April 21). The new gear probably won't be available from vendors until that date.

A new addition to the arena system will be the visibility of teams' ratings on the scoreboard after a game. This continues Blizzard's new trend of transparency, letting players see how the system works more clearly.

Although somewhat controversial with PvP-ers, the infamous Archavon instance will also get a new wing and a new boss. This will allow players to obtain PvP gear without the required rating, just like the current boss. PvP gear will be easier to obtain across the board once season six goes live, with ratings apparently being easier to raise.

Last but not least, there will be the class changes and glyph additions. The complete list of these is far too long to post here but you can always find the latest changes over at the official site.
