ImageSK Sweden just won the KODE5 Sweden Regional Finals against Lemondogs therefor qualifying for the KODE5 Global Finals. The tournament started today at 14.00 CEST with a groupstage and finished with the Best of Three Single Elimination.

A total of eight teams were attending the KODE5 Sweden Regional Final which was hosted at the DreamHack Göteborg this weekend. Five of them were invited while three qualified via a separate tournament on Friday where two spots were won by the Polish teams of BVG and Frag eXecutors.

The teams were then split up into two groups with four each with the top two advancing to the Single Elimination playoffs. SK have defeated all of their opponents being wooSai.dk, Lemondogs and Frag eXecutors. Mousesports seemed to struggle in their group already having close matches and then also placing second which meant mousesports and SK got their re-match early on.

For the past 1,5 years SK were constantly losing to mousesports whenever they met but this time SK had the upperhand winning over mousesports with 2-0 (de_dust 16-12, de_nuke 16-13). This also means mousesports once again did not qualify for the KODE5 Global Finals and will most likely take their chance at KODE5 Denmark next weekend.

SK on the other hand moved on to the Grand Final where they met a strong Lemondogs team which have also played a great tournament. The first map was dominated by SK being once again de_inferno where they won in groupstage already. The second map was de_nuke which eventually went into overtime with Lemondogs winning 19-15 (15-15, 3-0, 1-0) leading to the final and deciding map, de_dust2.

But SK Sweden made their comeback there already getting seven rounds on the Counter-Terrorist side as well as a clear 9-1 on the second half winning with 16-9 and overall with 2-1.

SK Sweden have qualified for the KODE5 Global Finals taking place in May again in Moscow, Russia.
