Hope for ESWC, offers on the table to buy brand
There may be a glimmer of hope for the Electronic Sports World Cup as a license holder said there have been offers to buy the brand.
With the company entering liquidation the ESWC brand is a valuable asset for the French company but even if it was sold there is no certainty that we would see an ESWC Grand Finals materialise. However, hope springs eternal.
"As far as I know, there are offers to buy the brand (or they are being prepared) and I think the buyer would continue to use the brand instead of dumping it", Topalov told readmore. Furthermore if all goes well in the negociations Topalov expects a "new" ESWC to take place between December 2009 and February 2010.

Sorry for my english.
I wonder who gave me all those minuses when I wasn't wrong?
:)
this event cannot be missed in the eSports scene.
Lets say a company does buy ESWC. They're buying the brand, and nothing else. They're buying the rights to host tournaments under that name, using the logo, etc.
In all honesty, the odds of this working into OUR favor is slim to none. Sure, we could have ESWC tournaments back, but if the company who purchases it wants to do CS:S, DOTA, and Mario Kart, they can. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want. The company could just make one LAN tournament in one country, and have it only there, for a set of awful games.
Basically, they could buy ESWC and make it like CGS. Or, anything they really wanted. Worst yet, a company like WCG could buy it, and kill it.
Sure, this keeps ESWC alive (technically), but it might not be alive in the way we all want it to be.
go eswc!
peace-
I hope the best^^ GOES ESWC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GL
