ESL commentator, Matt Rider, has uploaded a short video explaining just how the Extreme Masters final was won.One of the biggest criticisms levelled at WoW is that it is too complicated to understand. Taking that on-board, ESL commentator, Matt Rider, has released a short clip of one of the most exciting moments the game has ever seen.
2-1 down in the series, and in a 1v2 situation, HON's mage was staring defeat in the face. The ensuing comeback was one of the most memorable moments in the history of World of Warcraft.
If you haven't seen it before, didn't understand it, or simply want to relive the incredible action, you can see it all below:

Hes a good reason that WoW Arena have to be Esport !!
but I think it's a bit too pushed up, there were several other great moves by some players at the finals and so this one doesn't have to be repeated millions of times since two weeks - I would rather prefer a compilation of other great moments.
Unfortunately, even after X times slowmotion replay, Matt didn't mentioned (=didn't noticed) the main thing about that 1v2 - even if Kwana had survived barrage-blast-missiles combo, the Hyoga was already sheeped right after the last missile, so no chance for oom Kwana. It wasn't the MB proc who won that match, it was The Mage.
He spellstole shield cause he was low on HP. Then he took mana shield to survive. Then he took mana gem because he was low on mana.
Then he got a RNG clearcasting and critted 5 times with arc missiles.
And how did that inspire anyone except 1400 rated fanboys?

Did the mage play great ? Yes. Was it his far superior skill over the other players that won the match ? Hell no. Here's why he could win a game in a 2vs1 situation:
- excellent play
- the other players were messing around, the priest was WANDING his way to 30k euros (or however much it was)
- very lucky on RNG
- very questionable arcane talents (in terms of balance)
- questionable ruling
Point 2 being the most significant, they were convinced they won the match, and as many players do, they just slacked off. In a non tournament game, the mage would probably have left the second he ended up low health in a 2v1. Obviously SK Asia messed up, and you could argue they got what they deserved, I wouldn't agree with that, but that's a matter of opinion. He won a 2v1 where 2 players were practically not playing, the priest was wanding for crying out loud, why is that not mentioned in the video.
The ruling: if the match times out, the team with the most damage wins. This rule is flat out horrible, what it means is that if you end up with a healer vs a dps, the dps gets the win if the match times out. He even gets the win easily because he can play it super defensive, doesn't have to actually worry about getting a kill, doesn't have to play offensive and put himself at risk of dying, just play def, and do most damage, free win.
I actually wanted HON to win, but not this way, this wasn't a beautiful, inspiring moment in esports, because skillful play by the mage was absolutely not the main decider to the outcome. To me it was a horrible moment, showing luck, extreme fuck ups, and poor ruling.
