During the Game Developers Conference 09, Mike McGarvey and Steve Perlman, both successful entrepreneurs introduced their long time project, the "OnLive".The project seems very intriguing and special as if the system works it would allow people with low budget computers to play the newest games out there.
And it doesn't require anything much. All you need is a 1.5mbps broadband internet connection for normal quality stream or 5mbps for HDTW quality stream. Or you can also buy an OnLive micro console which can be attached to your TV screen. Also a lot of game developers have already started to cooperate with the company as it would drastically increase their income due to video game piracy.
But like every other gaming platform it has its costs. The developers have told that they could have a monthly fee which would be similar to Microsoft’s XBOX live and you still have to buy games through their system, the good part is that you could also rent them for a smaller time which wouldn't be that expensive.
