According to the state news agency Xinhua this system has led to the proportion of people under the age of 18 playing online games dropping to 15 percent of the total online gaming population in China.

This is a 7% drop from the 2007 figure of 183 million. The survey also showed that allegedly 60% of youngsters are satisfied with the anti-addiction system.
