Finally, after nearly two years of anticipation, pre-orders for the Blizzard RTS sequel are available on Amazon.Recently, there has news circulating that Gamestop has a release date pegged for the highly-anticipated sequel to Blizzard's 1997 RTS, StarCraft II. This was in debate as online shopping sites have never been known to be accurate with Blizzard release dates and Gamestop would unlikely have the date before Blizzard announces it to the public.
However, there is a promotional flyer for upcoming titles that includes StarCraft II being set for a June 2, 2009 release.
Now, in a follow-up, Amazon is taking in pre-orders for the first installment of the trilogy with no definate date set. Priced at $49.99 in US dollars, the new product form has become insanely popular with the Amazon community, taking up the #12 spot in bestsellers, even with this most-recent development. This should serve as another large boost to Activision Blizzard's annual revenue report.
