The forthcoming event will be held as part of 2009 Cheonan International E-Sports Culture Festival in Cheonan, South Korea between 2 and 5 of May.

Apart from Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft III that were announced in late February, popular games in South Korea, such as FIFA Online 2, Special Force and Starcraft will also feature in the event.

While online continental preliminaries are scheduled for the Starcraft tournament, players that are interested in participating in the other tournaments have to submit applications at ESWC official website, and ESWC committee will announce the shortlist of 12 international participants and 4 Korean participants for each tournament in the future.

The champions of Counter-Strike tournament and Warcraft III tournament will not only receive $30,000 and $15,000 prize money respectively, but will also recognized as top seed in ESWC Grand Final 2009.
