This event already promised to be great from the beginning and it turned out great after only one day. The Group of Death turned out to be one with Alternate surprising everyone and Mousesports getting knocked out after only the groupstage. Mousesports can't even qualify for the EM III Global Final as they placed fifth and needed to place fourth which Crack Clan did, coming in for Giants.

Everyone thought SK Gaming would be out as Crack Clan needed to beat mousesports to give SK a chance to advance which was not expected at all after some inconsistent performance such as losing to both MYM and Alternate, then tieing SK and winning emuLate as well as Mousesports in the end.

The same almost goes for SK as they started bad by losing to Alternate, then winning emuLate big, tieing Crack Clan, again losing to the Germans of mousesports and needed the win against MYM which they did with 22-8. This puts SK Gaming on the third place going up against fnatic in the next match.

Group A finished somewhat expected with mTw winning all of their matches going to the Double Elimination with 5-0-0 followed by fnatic with 4-0-1 only losing to mTw obviously. The third place was more contested but in the end ATS made it by defeating n!faculty. Still as fourth placed team, n!faculty will face Crack Clan in a relegation match to determine the last team for the Global Finals.

Now that the groups are finished, mTw and surprisingly Alternate go to the Double Elimination while the second and third of each group play each other soon being fnatic vs SK Gaming and ATS vs MYM. Check out our coverage for more information.
