The first matches of the ESL Extreme Masters III Finals have been played and a few surprising results have turned up. Alternate have beaten SK Gaming on de_dust2 in a more or less close match ending with a 16-14. The match started off with a kniferound win by Alternate choosing to play the Terrorist side first.

Even though Alternate lost the pistol round, they won the second round right after it to then go on a rampage for several rounds. Afte SK have won their second round they lost the connecting round being down with money a lot again forcing them to eco. The first half finished with 11-4 in favor of Alternate and it looked good for them in the second half too.

They have won the pistol round but once again the second round was won, but this time by SK Gaming. After ecoing twice Alternate were good to buy up again and have won the important equip round putting them almost on match point. Soon after Alternate managed to get the 15th round but SK Gaming fought back until the very last round making it a 16-14.
