The first major international Counter-Strike tournament of 2009 will begin tomorrow morning with the likes of SK Gaming, fnatic, MYM and Blank all in attendance.
The twelve teams will battle it out on LAN for the seven spots in the Global Finals which will begin on Friday. The seven spots are not the only thing up for grabs, there is also the matter of the $40,000 cash purse for the tournament with $25,000 going to the first place finisher.
However, we will not have to wait to the playoffs to see some intense competition given that SK Gaming, MYM, Mousesports and Crack Clan were all drawn into the same group.
The twelve teams have been divided into two groups of six, with the top three of each group qualifying themselves for the Global finals, meanwhile the fourth of each group will play a decider to see who gets the final spot.
The European and Global Finals are the first major international tournaments to be held since Dreamhack Winter back in December. With both finals right after each other we're about to witness five days of Counter-Strike action after a gruelling two month drought.
