SK Gaming have progressed to the next stage of the King of Kings Championship: DotA, despite loss to Dignitas in the group stage.SK Gaming's first place looked a given when the groups were first drafted but Dignitas' choice to pick up a DoTA squad proved a solid one with an impressive victory. With the 3-way tie-breaker in Group E between MeT, DoP and srs once again resulting in a draw, the organisers of KoKC decided to let all three teams progress.
The result is a 12 man playoff tree which means that not only does one team receive a bye in the first round (which just so happens to be MeT), but it also means by round 3 there will be an odd number of teams remaining. A group stage finals was always on the cards however, given the fact that there were five groups with the top two progressing.
SK Gaming will face TPL if they manage to defeat DoP in Round 1, one of the teams involved in the double tie-breaker. Dignitas will play MeT in the Round 2 match with the winner qualifying for the group stage final.
