The Virtual Touring Car Championship (VRTCC) pilots are starting their engines for the 3rd of 10 race days in total tonight. Danny ‘SK|HuskY’ Engels was able to win the previous race in Valencia and is aiming for another success in Sweden, which is being broadcast live by MultiBC starting at 20:30CETTwo weeks ago the best german virtual WTCC drivers faced each other in a thrilling race on the circuit of Valencia.
Already the official practice sessions showed that there will be three drivers fighting for the trophy of Spain’s Grand Prix: Danny 'HuskY' Engels, Ronny Hähnel (HP Racing) and Tobias Schlottbohm (RS Racing). But also the best Volvo driver Thomas Kiefer (Kluge Motorsports) was waiting for his opportunity to impress as well.
But everybody knows that nothing is impossible especially in Sim-Racing.
In the qualification though, it was SK Gaming’s BMW driver who dominated the lap charts. Danny Engels managed to get the best position on the grid and had a huge advantage for the first race by starting on pole.
Dennis 'MAXXFrag' May, “pm>> Racing Team” driver and SK Gaming’s BMW Mix team co-operator, found himself in the middle of the high skilled premier VRTCC division. Not much changed during the first race from the starting grid positions: Danny Engels dominated the entire race in a sovereign way with a start to finish victory infront of Ronny Hähnel and Tobias Schlottbohm.
Like in real WTCC racing, the Top 8 of the first race were turned around on the starting grid for the second race. Thomas Kiefer capitalized on that and brought home the first Volvo success. Danny Engels managed to gain 3 positions in a tough and hard race. With a first and fifth place already secured, he also scored the most points out of all the drivers and won the Grand Prix of Spain in Valencia. The podium of the 2nd race was completed by Michael Bräutigam and Robert Hyna.
Guido 'Modde' Muddemann showed a good performance in the 2nd VRTCC division and keeps the SK Gaming SEAT Team progressing on a good level as they move through the season. Björn 'Biertrinker' Kajewski also proved his skill with a podium finish in the 4th division. Therefore after his hard work he will be moved up to the 3rd division for the race tonight.
Hendrik 'b0nd' von Eye won the Rookie Cup race in Valencia and he will also compete in Sweden as well to fight for the Rookie Championship. Hendrik von Eye also made the newest episode in SK Gaming’s “One lap with..” feature.
This time it features the track “Mantorp Park” in Sweden, which you can see later tonight in the Virtual Racing Touring Car Championship, which promises to be packed full of exciting races.
