RNG banned, new maps removed at EM

ImageThe Extreme Masters rules, some of which were released to teams yesterday, make very interesting reading.

The Extreme Masters global finals are just days away now, and an intriguing but short list of rules was circulated to teams yesterday. First on the chopping block, to many people's delight, are RNG stuns.

Although these abilities are still in the game, speccing for them is banned on the ESL realm. This means that talents such as mages' "Impact", priests' "Blackout", and hunters' "T.N.T." are not allowed in players' talent specs.

Another new rule that will be greeted with huge cheers by almost everyone is that the new maps will also be unavailable. Whether ESL administrators can now choose the map like in other games is currently unknown. There is a possibility that games will have to be restarted if one of these maps comes up. Teams are still awaiting clarification on that matter.

The third rule that head admin, Shawn, let slip was that the deathknight spell "raise ally" is also added to the ban list. Again, it is unlikely that many players will bemoan that change.

The entire rule set will be available "in the next couple of days." But it seems as though there will be more interesting changes to come: "Until then please note that we will introduce a few new rules," said Shawn.
