Jesper "Nordahl" Henriksen speaks to Fragster.de about the abrupt end to his five year spell with Meet Your Makers."Needless to say I was kind of hurt that no one had bothered to call me and tell me that a five-year period of my life was over," said Nordahl when asked how much involvement he had in the decisions that had been made.
Jesper "Nordahl" Henriksen had taken a step back in terms of team management over the course of the last year and heard about the disband as well as the announcement of the franchise through co-manager Losemann.
The Dane was questioned of his view on who is essentially his sucessor, Cassandra "PPG" Ng. "I have nothing against Cassandra as a person, nor do I have anything against her managing," said Nordahl "I do however think that the subculture is that eSports should be weary of nepotism."
"I think Grubby now controls the team completely," said Nordahl, "he is the star and they wanted him and they will not do anything to jeopardise that by making him unhappy." When asked about the future Nordahl said that only Losemann could possibly convince him "from slipping into eSports oblivion."
The entire interview is available on Fragster.de.

"I guess they just called him this time as well because that was what they always did," said Nordahl, "I would have liked though to have had my own golden phone call to end my five years of managing the team. [...] For me it was kind of emotional to disband, and I had hoped for a proper goodbye."The Dane was questioned of his view on who is essentially his sucessor, Cassandra "PPG" Ng. "I am really using a lot of words saying that she is inexperienced, but who isn't when they first start?," said Nordahl. Cassandra is of course other half to Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen, one of the players she will be managing and Nordahl speaks with admiration of the pair, "I admire them that they dare live and work together at the same time.""I think Grubby now controls the team completely," said Nordahl, "he is the star and they wanted him and they will not do anything to jeopardise that by making him unhappy." GL Nohairdahl ,you'r one of the best manager ever !
shame that Nordahl got pushed away from MYM, hopefully we will see him soon! good luck dude
I would be unhappy, if I get kicked at first, and then getting drooled back to the organization. So, I really wonder why he joined back to MYM..
And being a manager for a professional team does not need any university quality kind of math, physics and chemistry. I think Cassandra will succeed well as a manager even with her "minor" experience. She has been following Grubby's career for quite a long time, and she has met other managers, players etc important eSports people, so she probably knows what to do.
Any other organsation > MYM any day.
Nordahl gl for your future!
Such a small effort could have prehibited this situation. This is just pure lack of respect.
On the other hand, it's possible to see how ESNation might've made the mistake, and only talked to Losemann about the disband. Nordahl had been kind of inactive for over a year and most of the team didn't talk to him for around the better part of half a year. Everyone in ESNation and the team was trying to handle their own loss and grief, so things may have been forgotten. At least Losemann talked to Nordahl about the disband. It must be quite difficult to deliver sad news.
I hope Nordahl and Losemann will find their own place in e-Sports, and continue to stay in the scene. All the best to the both of you! :)
PS: I may be inexperienced right now, but I will definitely try my best. Our company (FrontSpawn) may have no budget to hire more helpers/managers to manage the players, but hey, it's a small European team now. Grubby makes a great team captain, no doubt about that, he was the captain of 4Kings for 4 years afterall. Our company is new - hopefully in time the company and team will grow, and the budget will allow to hire more players and managers if needed. Cheers!
And to the people that say that esports is a buissness for managers aswell as players, they might be correct, but when I have bothered to work for free for 5 years I would say I am entitled to a courtesy call.
Best of luck nordahl and losemann, i hope you find a place to call home soon, a place that deserves you!
- The managers weren't paid for 5 years
- Grubby hires Happy and Ciara because they both cost less than 500euros (
- Progamers' girlfriends become managers.
Esports just went back 5 years backwards. Maybe FaTC used to earn as much money as some of the Koreans today, sad but true.
Maybe it is for the best, maybe Esports will go back to amateur level, where players would sleep under the table and spend all they have to make a CPL. Maybe some people will realize that when Intel and AMD pull back, Esports just die and hundreds of kids who dropped school for a so-called "gaming" carreer are left behind, in the very real world we live in, with no skills and no future. MaDFroG and Creo understood that, they understood they were tools, very few people make money in eSports, and in the western countries, those people aren't players.
