A group of European Online Games publishers recently founded the Pan-European Online Games Association (PEOGA) in Hamburg. An association dedicated to improve the quality and image of online gaming. The PEOGA has set itself three goals in order to improve the online gaming experience.
Improving networking between European online gaming publishers will be their primary goal. This will enable publishers to work together, instead of compete against each other, in order to increase the online gaming industry in Europe.
Their second goal is one we are all familiar with: the image of gaming. They will provide detailed and realistic information to the public concerning gaming "side-effects". Additionally, they will try to improve the gaming image as a whole, to make it more appealing to the general public.
Lastly, they will take a look at the self regulation of the online game industry. PEOGA will set general rules and regulations, as they believe that the gaming industry has reponsibilites towards its users and thus making their gaming experience a safe one.
The association was created with different European online gaming publishers leaders including Frogster Interactive, Game Entertainment Europe, Gameforge 4D, Gamigo, Gravity Europe and many more.
