EA Chief John Riccitiello believes the economic crisis could do the gaming industry some good.“I actually think the economic crisis that the world moved into in 2008 was a blessing for the game industry," said John Riccitiello during his speech at the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (DICE) summit this weekend.
"First of all, a lot of the riffraff is going to go out of business… it’s hard to compete with junk especially when they’re giving it away for free," said Riccitiello.
The "blessing" of the recession should slim down the video game industry according to the EA representative. "We did get fat in way too many places," said Riccitiello, "it seemed like anybody who could draw a guy with a gun with a crayon got funded…"
He also allegedly said that he sees the recession as an opportunity for the gaming industry to emerge even stronger, as companies will have to tune into the modern gamer in order to survive. Riccitiello finished by quoting Barak Obama's Chief of staff, "to quote Rahm Emmanuel, never waste a crisis."

Says the guy whose company delivers quite the biggest part of the junk that's out on the Gaming shelves. Douchebag.
and when your own shit is even worse and you want money for it
That's why EA release what is basically a patch every year, and charge €30 for it! It all makes sense now.
NHL
Need For Speed
Sim Series
Medal of Honour
SSX
Battlefield
NFL (even tho I hate it)
Crysis (ironic)
Rock Band
SKATE
And you guys are calling him shit? =\
LotR BFME: 2, the online mode is... laggy, cant connect etc. on the xbox360 as on the PC.
I think EA should sort out their own 'riffraff' first.
