NGL Supervisor, GameSports Project CEO and Shoutcaster Thomas “Khaldor” Kilian reckoned on NGL’s solo league to lead to an "attractive" future.‘Logical way’
The NGL WC3 League has established itself as one of the most illustrious competitions worldwide over the past two years owing to their unique format of “King of the Hill”. However, with teams downsizing their WC3 squads in a bid to reduce costs, NGL’s focus shift to solo league is a natural step for Khaldor.
“Through the dialogue with the participating teams as well as the G7, it became clear within the last few months, that many clans were restructuring and focussing more and more on solo competitions. For many clans the team leagues are no longer attractive enough with their high player costs.” said the 27-year-old to GameSports. “The step to a solo league was the logical way for us to guarantee an attractive competition at the highest level.”
‘best players possible’ in qualifiers
Aside from NGL’s initial eight select players as well as four community’s favourites, the rest of the places in the upcoming season’s 24-player league is determined through a series of online qualifiers, and Khaldor expressed his desire to garner players of highest class in the competition.
“We are generally anxious to make sure that the best players possible receive the opportunity to take part at the qualification tourneys. In regards to the first qualification tourney, the selection process was primarily based on the recent performance of the applicants,” continued Khaldor, who in the meantime denied SoJu’s claim of not getting his chance to participate as he never received such an application from the former SK Gaming star player. “The decision whether a player was invited to another tournament was in parts constrained to his performance at the former competition.”
Make or break for quartet
Whilst the hectic online qualifiers came to an end last Saturday with Dae Hui 'FoV' Cho, Mykhaylo 'HoT' Novopashyn, Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán and the like progressing, everyone is anxiously waiting on NGL’s call of the other two invitees, but NGL decided to bow out and let Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom, Jae Wook 'Lucifer' Noh, Xiang 'TH000' Huang and Marc 'yAwS' Förster, best representative of their respective race in their eyes, to plot their future.
“FoCuS, Lucifer, TH000 and yAwS will compete for the last two slots. The selection was primarily based on the players performance within the recent qualification tourneys and the distribution of races amongst the already qualified participants. So for nine night elves, six undeads, five orcs and three humans were able to qualify for the NGL ONE,”
“The players mentioned above therefore reflect the races represented the least. All four were able to prove themselves at the qualifiers and several additional events and thus earned to receive this last chance for a spot in the NGL ONE.”

It'd be fun to have a "play as random" in one of the weeks.. just a thought !
My Opinion
I think yAwS is playing because he is German (based on the fact that NGL is a German league).
Like, Minhyuk, Bringer and Knoff had better results in the NGL qualifiers.
