3.09 brings early class changes this week

ImageBlizzard will release a few tweaks and changes this week in patch 3.09.

Although not a major content patch, 3.09 does include a few interesting class changes. Due out this week, one of the biggest changes in the new update will be the reduction of spell-casting debuffs like 'slow'. When the patch goes live (Wednesday morning in Europe), the new version will "now increase[s] cast time by 30%, down from 60%." In the same vein, warlock's 'curse of tongues' will be 30% as well.

With mana regeneration a hot topic recently, one of the paladin changes makes interesting reading. Divine plea's healing debuff has been increased to 50% (up from 20%) but will no longer be dispell-able. No changes to the mana regeneration of other healing classes have been confirmed.

Meanwhile, in an effort to reduce the "bursty" nature of PvP, rogue's mutilate ability is taking a huge setback. The official patch notes read "Mutilate damage will now do 20% increased damage against poisoned targets, down from 50%." Confusingly, in the same patch, mage's 'presence of mind' is having its cooldown reduced to two minutes with a possible 30% reduction from the talent 'arcane flows'.
