First details of season six gear

ImageBlizzard has announced changes to the rating required to purchase items in season six.

Ever since ratings were faced placed on items in season three, the specific requirements have changed each season. It seems that the pattern will continue in season six.

On the whole, rating requirements for season six gear, titled 'Furious', will remain roughly the same, but the intervals will be bumped up to 50 points. This means that the gloves require 1600 rating; the ring requires 1650; the legs require 1700 and so on. The highest rated item is the shoulders, which require 2100.

However, there is a new addition in season six. At 2300 rating, players can obtain a 'Furious Tabard'. Like any other tabard, it carries no stats but is apparently "awesome looking."

Another trend that will be continued is the 'welfare' status of older gear. Under Blizzard's current plans, which are still subject to change, it seems that the blue 'savage' set will be removed from vendors, in the same way that 'gladiator' gear was removed in season four.

The current mid-tier set, 'hateful' will be moved to welfare status, requiring no rating and becoming purchasable via the honour system. The current top-tier of PvP gear, 'deadly', will still require ratings, but they will be much lower. Relics such as idols/librams/sigils will only require 1300 rating and even the shoulders will only be 1550. The 'off-items' such as rings, boots and bracers will require no rating at all.

However, it is important to note that players will not start at 1500 rating in season six. Honour points and arena points cost has not be specified yet, but a blue poster said "Hateful costs would be similar to current Savage, Deadly costs similar to current Hateful, and Furious costs would be similar to current Deadly."

Finally, the Vault of Archavon is getting a new boss and the drops will be changed slightly. Instead of legs and chest, as the current boss drops, the new one will gloves and legs as well as "any random PvP item, except for the chest". Tier eight PvE gear will also be available in this manner.
