Blizzard: "We think PvP is too bursty"

ImageSurvivability is one of the biggest bugbears for WoW players in WoTLK but now Blizzard finally got on the bandwagon.

Speaking on the official forums yesterday, Ghostcrawler said that the currently "PvP is too bursty." He went on to say, however, that Blizzard still weren't sure exactly how to fix the problem:

"We haven't announced is what we are going to do about it. Risks of making ill-conceived changes include just shutting out classes or specs without a lot of CC potential, or perhaps having long stalemate-ish fights where nobody ever dies. But that doesn't mean we won't do anything. "

Elsewhere in the same post, Ghostcrawler said that Blizzard were questioning the spread of overpowered burst damage and that they "are also still discussing whether this is a problem only with certain classes [...] or whether damage is just too high in general." He did add, though, that resilience does already help the problem, saying "when you talk to players sitting at say 500 resilience they can notice a difference and by 800 or 900 they feel like they can stay alive."

Also on the agenda again yesterday was the issue of pet durability. This has long been an cause of irritation for warlocks. But in another post, Ghostcrawler let slip that Blizzard is considering giving pets resilience.

Despite the large buff pets got to their hitpoints in 3.08, a lot of warlocks have still complained about their pets dying too fast. Never the less, the line between 'too easy' and 'too hard' is a fine one, according to another blue post in which Ghostcrawler said that "with enough resilience there is a risk of very tanky pets."
