The ESL Extreme Masters Continental Asia have been finished with a surprising winner, wNv Gaming. WeMade FOX (former eSTRO) were the big favorites for the title once again but they already struggled during the groupstage but still made it to the Grand Final through the Upper Bracket. The Chinese team of wNv defeated them twice winning the Continental Finals, going to Germany and getting $25,000.

Only the Lower Bracket and Grand Final were left to be played on Sunday, 18th January 2009 where the two favorites were playing, wNv and WeMade FOX. The Koreans already had a hard time during the groupstage getting a draw against the Chinese a4u and also had a very close 16-13 against wNv earlier on in the Upper Bracket Final.

Now both teams met again after wNv Gaming beat TitaNs in the Lower Bracket Final which already meant they're going to the Global Finals. But wNv made the impossible which no one expected, they devastated WeMade FOX on two maps and the Koreans were not able to get more than 11 rounds on two maps.

This leaves wNv Gaming with the crown of the best Asian team but also the prize money of $25,000 and the spot for the Global Finals.
