The ESL Extreme Masters III Continental Finals Asia are taking place in Chengdu, China and the groupstage of the Counter-Strike tournament has been finished. Due to several teams not attending and getting replaced, the tournament looks weaker than it actually was before. Therefor the favorites had an easy time in the groupstage with wNv and WeMade FOX coming out on top.

Group A was a pretty clear one looking at the scores with wNv defeating all of their opponents while two didn't even get ten rounds. The second place in the group was a bit more contested though and looking at the teams, ExsequoR looked like the most experienced team. But they were not able to win over TyLoo, one of the teams getting in only a day before the tournament. TyLoo only lost to wNv so they are the second team to advance to the playoffs.

Group B was a bit more even and almost caused the first big upset with a4u doing the impossible. WeMade FOX (former eSTRO) are the favorite to win the Asia Continental Final but seemed to have a hard time against a4u on de_inferno. It was a close match and WeMade were not able to get their winning round for quite some time making it a 15-15 in the end. Still WeMade FOX place first winning over all other teams and also TitaNs place second as expected.
