Warlocks and Wintergrasp amongst 3.08 changes

ImageAlthough it seems unlikely that 3.08 will be released this week, the list of PvP improvements keeps on growing.

Warlocks continue to be the center of much debate in the WoW community as 3.08 will bring their pets a much sought-after hp buff. In a blue post yesterday, Ghostcrawler announced that warlock pets will indeed get their survivability improved: "the changes we got in for 3.0.8 were mostly designed to help locks survive longer in PvP... for instance we very recently juiced up pet health for some pets."

This news will be met with excitement by the warlock community but the changes don't end there. The well known community rep went on to outline Blizzard's mid-term plans for the class:

1) Improve deep Demonology for PvP and PvE.
2) Make Affliction feel less dependent on dot timers and other external mods (nothing wrong with the mods -- we just think it's getting harder and harder to play the spec with the default UI).
3) Take a hard look at Soul Shards.
4) Take a hard look at the way pets scale.

Looking wider, every class will be interested in the new epic PvP items available from Lake Wintergrasp. You can see the complete list of items at MMO-Champion. They include boots and helms for every spec, as well as a couple of trinkets - one spell power and one physical.

Another welcome piece of news, at least for people who aren't playing a deathknight, is that the class is being toned down significantly in 3.08. With DK's being the new class on the block, the list of changes is a long one but you can see it here.
