Sweden international Kim “SaSe” Hammar leaves Team ALTERNATE for good as the WC3L attendee opts to focus on “German eSport community”.The contract that tied Kim 'SaSe' Hammar with the German team expired on 1 January, 2009, and ALTERNATE decided not to renew it after seeing WC3L’s new competition format bring the entry level of one’s squad down to 2.
“Despite his many strengths, we announced today with heavy hearts that he will be leaving the team. We had to make this very hard decision because of changes to WC3L rules,” Peter "Chucky" Schlosser told team-alternate.de.
“We will be focusing more than ever on the German eSport community and will continue to play with dark, yAwS and XlorD in the next WC3L season.”
The 21-year-old, played under Mousesports before making a switch to Team ALTERNATE last July, capped 11 times in the regular season of WC3L Season IV, collecting 6 points with vital wins over Jae Wook 'Lucifer' Noh, Yoan 'ToD' Merlo and Jin Woo 'WinNers' Kim to help his team maintain their status in the top league for one more season. He also finished 2nd at BlizzCon 2008 European qualifier and 5-8th at World Cyber Games 2008 during his stay in Team ALTERNATE.
