ImageMichal "Carmac" Blicharz speaks to Readmore.de in an interview which spares no prisoners.

For many his departure from SK Gaming came as a surprise, but for most the bigger question is not why he left but where he is going.

In his first interview since announcing his departure from SK Gaming Michal "Carmac" Blicharz tells Readmore.de the reason behind his decision to move on. "I was heart-broken when I told Alex Mueller that I would not be continuing with SK in 2009, but I am getting older," said Carmac.

"What if I wake up one day and realise that esports has become something that I no longer enjoy? [...[ I love esports and I don't plan to leave but I want to be ready for any scenario. My new job will double my value."

Carmac gives only scraps of information about his new destination and for those just itching to know where the twice eSports journalist of the year will be going, you will have to wait a bit longer. One thing for sure though is he will not be the new Angel Munoz. "I can tell you that I will not be involved with the new CPL [...] I would love to try my luck behind the steering wheel some day though."

So how will eSports ride the economic downturn in Carmac's opinion? "I think we are all going to suffer and we can see by what happened with the WC3L and the NGL that we're all going to have to try and adjust," said Carmac. The Pole then goes onto touch on the Counter-Strike media scene following MLG reduction of Gotfrag's CS budget. "The space Gotfrag will leave needs to be filled and I am excited to see how this pans out in 2009," said Carmac.

The CGS also gets its serving of a Carmacism, "Imagine that some douchebag of a millionaire comes and buys Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, Diego and the other major stars of the Bundesliga and creates a TV show where they play 10-minute football matches in mud with Heidi Klum as a referee because it's cool," said Carmac. "Even if the players got 100 million Euro a season would you watch that or would you rather watch Oberhausen in the second Bundesliga?"

If what you've read so far has enticed you then you can read the entire interview here, which although being on Readmore.de is in English.
