Two remaining Europeans in PGL Season IV, Dmitriy “Happy” Kostin and Mykhaylo “HoT” Novopashyn enjoyed success against respective Chinese players to stay in the running revival phase, while Zhen “HopeStar” Xu and Hyeong Ju "Check" Lee were hit with the end of their run in the competition.Happy Happy
Relished two successive victories over Grubby and suhO to advance from Group D, Russian Undead youngster Happy was paired with the soon 22-year-old Chinese Night elf player Yanchao "Lyc" Lu in the first round last night, and came out on top with a 2-1 win to book a second round meeting with Colorful’s Orc player Lin "Wulin" Wu, who earlier tower rushed the latest addition of nGize, Check in the decisive set to claim a 2-1 win.
HoT strives for place
Ukrainian Night elf player HoT, however, was made to work harder in his progress to the next round. After setting up a 1-0 lead in his first match against World Elite Human player infi, who was playing on home soil in China, he was forced to continue his pursuit in lower bracket when infi turned table in the rest of the match with a masterpiece of “tower art”. While losing to HopeStar of eXpertise in previous team knockout phase, he rediscovered his touch in the following match against the Undead player with a satisfying 2-0 win to keep his PGL hope alive.
Check exit
A loss to Happy did not mark the end of Lyc's Chengdu trip, who returned to the scene with a Mousesports transfer following a frustrating year with his former team Colorful, as he showed Check the door with a 2-1 win in the first round in lower bracket.
